The fabric stores nearest me are having blowout sales on fleece and I decided to start on my next year's Christmas gifts. I broke down and bought a pattern for scarves because I wanted instructions on one particular edging. I also purchased 1 yard of fleece since the pattern called for 7/8 yard. After getting home on Saturday, I trimmed the pattern and laid it out. Hmmmm, I can easily get 2 scarves from one yard and if I had just a little more fabric I could get 3. The same fabric store will discount fleece even more starting this Thursday. I am planning a trip to get a few more yards and planning on making these now. The fabric costs will be $1.00 or less per scarf.

It sounds like you are going to be able to make some very nice gifts for some lucky people. Please post some pictures, I would Love to see what you have made. bopeep

I am getting ready, when we get our taxes back, to buy the fabric to make my brother & sister-n-law rag quilts. They have to sleep in separate beds due to her breathing and being on some type of machine so I am making them both one. His will be king size & hers full. So I'm looking at quite a bit of money on fabric unless I can find it on sale. But I love making rag quilts and he has agreed to make Joe & I both wooden prayer kneelers for here at home. I like to kneel to pray and my knees are so bad that it is extremely painful to do so. I am very excited about getting those.
