Pony's favorite dehydrator finally gave up the ghost today. We've only had it for ten years or so, and it's been a great machine. I've replaced the thermal fuse at least a dozen times, and cleaned and lubricated the blower motor with success. Unfortunately, it seems the motor has just had enough, and decided to short or something- even when spun, turn the dehydrator on and it STOPS dead. Since the fan on the motor provides the breeze to not only circulate air but also keep the heating coils from burning out, I have to immediately shut it off.
A search online for parts for this thing is ABSOLUTELY fruitless- I can find a hundred places selling it, and a hundred others with reviews of it, but nobody has PARTS for it! Before you ask, it's well out of warranty, and the manufacturer wants to sell us a new dehydrator, not new parts for our old dehydrator, so that's kinda out the window.
Does anyone know where to get a blower motor for one of these things? The data sticker on the motor has gotten obliterated from heat over time, so I don't know the manufacturer or part number; the only thing I know about it is that it's 2400 RPM, 110VAC, 1000W, and I got that much from reading online.
Thanks for any suggestions. Nick

Have you considered looking for a non original fan motor and adapting it. Must be dozen years ago now, friends of mine had one of those refrigerators that depends on little fan blowing cold air from freezer compartment down to the refrigerator section. It had rusted tight, you got super cold freezer, warm refrigerator and constant running compressor due to refrigerator thermostat continually calling for colder temperature.
You could order a new little fan motor but it was some crazy high price, something like $50-$60. I looked around and salvaged the blower motor out of cheapo electric space heater. Had to tweak mounting brackets a bit, but it worked. Back then whole heater was $10, far cheaper than new motor for the refrigerator. Worked fine too.

Nick ............That motor is pulling between 9 and 10 amps , probably a little more than 10 amps on startup ! , fordy I dont know, electric dehydrators dont tend to have an internal wind tunnel. Just enough fan to keep air moving. I think that 1000W includes the heating coils to maintain temp in the dehydrator and probably keep air dry. But you will know what size motor/fan when you take it apart. Just as a comparison, an angle grinder or a low end circular saw is about 1000W. Pretty sure your dehydrator doesnt have that kind of motor. The heating coils should have their own thermostat. A dehydrator uses very low heat, dont want it to cook the food, just dehydrate it.
