Who's ready to start thinking about quilts for Memorial Day/Fourth of July? This is one I made a year or two ago. The blacksmith Hubs is the head and feet. Bless his heart! It does make for a funny pic, though!

Sweetie only decorates, in the house, for Christmas. Most everything comes down for that. We used to buy a new flag for the 4th nearly every year but the last 4 or so we are at the lake so that is changed on Memorial day, now. Otherwise we put new flowers in the 2 pots on the front stoop every spring. Valentines cards are displayed on the bedroom mantle, then. Sweetie does have a spring, summer, fall and winter garden flag set, put them up on the back lamp post (4"x4" with solar light) for 2 weeks or so at the respective seasons. Guess that is it for us....James

I made a patriotic wall quilt last year. I ended up giving it to my dh's aunt for her 80th birthday. She wanted to hang it on her door. I also made a patriotic lap quilt for my son-in-law, Bob. He is tall, so it ended up actually being about full bed size. He loves vintage and patriotic things. So I used some older fabric to make this. He loves it and shows it off all the time. He and my daughter entered it in their county fair. It won first place. Really surprised me.

I had seams that didnt match up and it is obviously beginner.....but it is full of love I have shirts left and would like to make a quilt for each of my kids and one for me. I also have a lot of ties from him and would like to do one with ties.
