Another living, text book example of progressive liberalism taken to it's extreme. Something that ideologues refuse to acknowledge and the indoctrinated sheeple, well, you know, they're just non-thinking, follow along sheeple.

Its actually rather nice climate there. The big downsides like any large city, is too many people (crowded and lot crime) and super high priced living expenses. You really need to be Big Daddy Warbucks to live comfortably there. But same in any large city. People foolishly follow seemingly high wages to the big city, only to find out there are also super high prices (and a lot of rats). I'd much rather try to live on meager income in Cow Pie, Kansas than higher income in NYC. I'll just have to forgo the opera and museums....

The question is why do 64% want to stay? San Francisco is a beautiful city. But it has no ability to spread as it's on the tip of a peninsula. So housing become ever more costly in the city proper and commutes to find affordable rent become ever longer and inconvenient. Bridges are hard and expensive to expand to meet traffic needs. Land is not like NYC- it's unstable, which restricts development. Frankly the problem is not that so many people want to leave as much as so many more keep wanting to crowd in.

I suppose that if population keeps increasing that cities will be the only beautiful things by elimination.

I live in Southern California when I was younger. Truth I enjoyed the weather, the Mountains, Ocean but didn't get along with the people I actually got along with people in New York City better.
