Ok I have several hundred Nightcrawlers been trying to catch Redhorse Suckers on the river. First time caught Rainbow Trout. Went further on down the river caught Channel Catfish.
Thinking, no matter where I am, use Medium Action Gear Bait up with my worms. Take what the Lord provides.

@rockpile,I hear ya. When I fished in eastern Oregon rivers, lakes and reservoirs for 10 years, even if I used a dab of "power bait" I Had to have a worm dangling off the hook. Both seemed to work best(I think they smelled the power bait but wanted to See the worm). Without the worm,No fish. Worms alone worked too, just took longer to catch dinner. This part of Oregon is either too polluted or too regulated. Makes me sad. I just don't want to "catch and release";got better things to do if I can't take home dinner. I can be happy for your fishin stories though.

Other than catfish and bullheads, just about all of our fishing was for whatever bites. Using worms or crawlers, often never knew what was going to be at the end of the line until it broke water. Especially when expecting a bluegill on 4# line and it feels like a log was snagged!
