I will have to take your word for it. The only place I have been in Texas is San Angelo.

Lady, before you can be in San Angelo you have to go through a whole lot of Texas. My mother is from that area. It always suited her just fine to never go back. Somewhere in time and space there is a wonderful country and western song entitled San Angelo about below average people living below average lives in a below average place.

There is so many places that the Lord has created in this world for our pleasure but none compare to what He has to offer.

Wow! What beautiful pics... The 5th one reminds me of a scene in a John Wayne (Love him!!!) movie-there was a shootout along a river among huge trees... Man, can't remember the name of it... ~Mari ETA: Ha! Just remembered it - The Sons of Katie Elder...

When I was a young fellow I worked one Summer in Abilene. I drove a truck collecting oil field cores for testing, so the truck had a dry-ice cooler in which to transport the cores. San Angelo was the closest town in which we could buy beer, and every time I went near there I was detailed to pick up a case of beer. The first time I thought I'd do the fellows a favor and cool their beer. It was rock hard when they took it out of then cooler.
I Thought San Angelo was a pretty town, and from what friends tell me it still is. I know they make the best home-style pecan cracker there.
Girl there used me for a summer fling. (There were 3 colleges there then.) She tossed me aside like a used Kleenex after she'd had her way with me. Broke my heart for a little while.

I think most of the earth can be considered heaven if it were just the place but it is some of the people that seem to make most of it hell my favorite places are either not very populated or have nice people there

Amen, Space; I live in a condo in town, old folks, quiet, pleasant. People die, their heirs rent the condos. Right now we are dealing with a pregnant crackhead who has three handicapped boys because of her habit. It is going to take at least another month to get her out of there and in the meantime everyone must guard their doors. The gal is passing checks on closed accounts, driving without a license, sending the boys out to climb over the swimming pool fence at 3Am---And on and on. Paid her first month's rent and deposit with a worthless check.

I will have to take your word for it. The only place I have been in Texas is San Angelo. Just to clarify I flew into San Antonio. I did drive from San Antonio to San Angelo. However my DIL had major surgery and then i was keeping my 7 yo and 4 yo grandsons somewhat occupied. The younger GS did not handle his mom's surgery and recuperation well. but that was two years ago. And we are all older and wiser now.
