I am excited! We bought two Charolais cross cows, heavy bred. One calved out on Saturday last week, this is the bull calf. We are keeping him for sure, never have seen one this cute! Of course we are calling him Moonie. His mask is the same pattern on each side...so cute. The little dark red calf is out of our bull and a black angus heifer, he is 4 weeks old. Super sweet boy, nosey as all get out!

I want him...he is a precious calf. When I grew up we lived on a farm, a little one. Just one cow,, chickens and 2 scary roosters, a horse ( which was a trotter & raced) my dad was a trainer. He would take us kids one at a time in the sulky, around the cornfields. The big "event" was when he would bring a bull home to mate. Oh boy, all of us would be at the back porch, it was very exciting! They were the good old days.
Much happiness wished for you with your new calf.

Thanks Woodpecker, I wish you and I lived closer, you could come over and watch him grow, mature, and eventually sire a nice little herd:-) I appreciate the happy wishes, and wish you back the same:-)

Let's face it, has anyone actually seen a truly ugly calf? I know I haven't!

He has been joined by an equally lovely, but not as nicely colored, heifer calf. Yay!!
