Id been wondering if weather conditions affects animal fertility? Ginger, my hen was good in her two hatching but never hatched any eggs I the third..I know she was an excellent layer but I think there could be something I have done wrong. Just sharing my short experience from: www.amplehomesteadbin.com/2016/06/poor-ginger.htmlI wish could have known candling before...

If it is very hot, the hen may not be able to the eggs cool enough, and the embryos can die.

You'll notice that when it gets hot the chickens slow down their laying or stop altogether. If it is too hot to hatch chicks, their bodies respond by closing the nursery.
