Brave little things. Had one hanging around. Too close for comfort. Killed a lamb a few weeks ago. Earlier this week it crossed the line when I walked can into the barn and it was there, inside, with a chicken in it's mouth. That is just too close for me. Bought my hunting license and got busy. Came home from work today and found this. Managed to open a window on the other side and solved my problem.

Too close for comfort! I live in Texas and no license needed for coyotes. We hear them every night. Saw a large one not long ago chasing a doe. Sorry to hear you lost livestock.

Here in Missouri you wouldn't need Hunting Licenses.

We *had* a little coyote pup in our sheep pen one morning. To this day have no idea how he got in there.
When we lived in town it wasn't uncommon to see them in the neighborhood.
I guess as people are spreading out they are losing their fear or just don't see people as a threat.

I mowed down our back field to keep them back some. I hope it works!

My goodness was it just taking a nap under your front window?? We had 2" of rain in the past 24 hours. It was tucked in under the overhang, all nice and dry.

I mowed down our back field to keep them back some. I hope it works! I've got my pastures mowed. The front of the house is a normal lawn but the back of the house is built into the hillside and steep. Would be tough mowing. So I turned my landscapers out on it last week to knock it down.

Our Son use to walk a mile to catch the School Bus. Coyotes would follow him.

I'm working on it @rockpile, Probably not until at least next Spring....something about his honey-do list being too long as it is.

Sheep are docked so poop doesn't get caught in wool. These are hair sheep, so no wool to catch poop.

If I had a speciality wool sheep and did the shearing myself, there would be some income. I have no interest in any additional sheep wrestling, so it would cost me money to get them sheared. Plus then I'd have to taking tails off cute little lambs.

LOL! No guard dogs. I have 3 water gaps and the creek will come up 10+ feet, so they are very flexible and not dog proof. Right on the edge of city limits. I have visions of a Great Pyrenees chasing the college track team down the road....

You wouldn't believe me unless you seen it with your own eyes, I have a trio of three (all full brothers) at one of our farms (66 acres) and those boys are with those sheep at all times and will not cross anything to leave the property, right down to I can't get them in a car to take to vets for their shots, they will not step outside a open gate, vet has to come out to farm to give dogs shots, they are always right in the middle of the sheep and you can't even tell they are there until one stands up and barks at you...LOL They live and breath to be with their sheep and protect them, it is all how they are raised of course. A lot of people spend to much time with them and they turn out more like pets and want to follow you to the porch and big mistake that is, a true guardian must BOND to livestock and not to humans (none of them would ever hurt a human mind you) but they will warn you that they are on duty and bark at strangers, they only kill predators and there first instinct is to move the flock AWAY from the threat, if threat keeps approaching they will then deal with it but in the mean time they have their flock in a group together and they know where the flock is at all times while they run threat off or in some cases kill threat.....Even skunks are a threat in their mind...lol
