Britain is set to be invaded by a plague of 200 BILLION daddy long legs thanks to the warm, wet summer.
The insects - also known as crane flies - are a common sight in UK homes and are completely harmless. Harmless or no, wouldn't want one walking across my face at night. Bet if someone had a few thousands geckos they could make a killing.

They're so normal no one bothers with them, well other than gardeners who hate the lava. My chickens seem to love both.

If they're all daddy long-legs, where do the baby long-legs come from?

These are not what we call daddy longlegs. Ours is an arachnid similar to a spider. Subject here is a crane fly which looks like a giant mosquito. (We also have them here.) Their larva is a worm in the ground and thus the mention of gardeners not happy with them. I once saw a documentary about ravens in the UK. The overall health of them in any given family was directly in correlation with the number of larva in an area.
