Gas can I bought has some gas in it. Would rather not take chances and dispose of it. Seller said gas can was kept on porch. Can had sand all over out side. How do I dispose of gas? Nowhere around here to pour out.

You can either put it in an open metal bucket and set it on fire (dangerous though letting it soak into some old cloth or paper slows the flash a bit) or you can just put it in open metal bucket and let it evaporate (not great for environment, but not nearly as dangerous) It will evaporate fairly quick. Use something like a hog pan so it can spread out for fastest evaporation. Dont pour it on the ground.
Oh and the proper way is to take it to some local place that accepts household chemicals and disposes of them for you. I cant imagine there is enough gas to make this worth the time and trouble. Usually those household chemical dropoff deals are only once or twice a year, and in some areas not at all. They take paints and pesticides and other normal household chemicals that you wouldnt want to pour on ground or flush down toilet.

Whenever I have a small amount of gasoline to dispose of, I wait for dry weather and find a pesky stump or two that have refused to die and keeps sprouting out limbs.
