Well the chex cereals went on sale here, brand name and some generic for $1.99 so off we go making chex mix snacks.
Out of one bag of small pretzels, and three kinds of chex, there is enough to make all three recipes, so we did.
Shopping list: 3 chex cereals, bag of pretzels, bag of walnuts, bag of salted mixed nuts, bag of salted peanuts, large bag of m&m's, 1-2 packages of white chocolate bark. (assuming you have butter, seasonings, sugars, corn syrup, worcestershire sauce)
Seasoned Chex Mix Snack (like the Pioneer Woman's recipe)
3 cups or 1/3 box of each of the following: rice, corn, and wheat chex
2 cups or 1/3 bag of small pretzels
2 cups mixed salted nuts
Melt:
1 and 1/2 sticks of butter
3 tablespoons of Worcestershire sauce
1 teaspoon of seasoned salt
4 cloves of garlic finely chopped
1/4 teaspoon of onion powder
(hot sauce, 7-8 shakes of it or more depending on your taste)
pour the butter mixture over the chex mixture, mix well.
Bake at 250 degrees F for 1 hour and 15 minutes, stirring occasionally
Put in 2 - 1 gallon zip lock bags.
[Optional Buttered Rye Crisps--cut up one loaf of cocktail rye bread, melt 1 stick of butter with 2 Tablespoons worcestershire sauce, mix well, bake and stir at 250 degrees F until the bread is dry and crisp, to add to the above chex mix.]
Sweet Chex Mix Snack (Reindeer munch, white trash)
