Ok, I now have 3 mini horses and a pony. What shots do they need each year?

Hi Wendy. I have several minis as well, and I have my vet give them everything. The only vaccine I don't do is for Shingles, but now that I have horses being shown again I will probably have to start that one.
A quick call to a vet will let you know for sure what they recommend for your area. You can then hit Tractor Supply or a local feed store for the inexpensive version!

It depends some on the location, age and life style (?) of the horses. Here I give the West Nile, the Equine Encephalitis(s), tetanus, flu (the 4 Way) and rabies. Most people don't give rabies but it's a problem here. I don't give Rhino as my horses never travel these days. I wouldn't do flu either except it's part of a cheaper 4 way combo.

Mine get 5-1, West Nile and Rabies. Rabies is a must for this area.
I used places like Heartland Vet to buy vaccines, a lot cheaper going through them.

In case it might be of use to you....
There's never been a case of documented rabies in horses that have received even just one vaccine and one booster.
Here, we give them one season. And that's it.
EEE, WEE, tetanus, intra-nasal flu, and West Nile. Also strangles and lepto, if there are outbreaks of strangles around, or recurrent uveitis. But the latter is controversial, so that's one for your vet to advise you on.
