Since 1980, the U.S. has experienced 203 weather and climate disasters whose damage each exceeded at least $1 billion.

Bearing the brunt of these disasters is Texas, which faced a total of 90 billion-dollar weather events in the past 37 years. Roughly 44 percent of all costly weather disasters in the U.S. since 1980 have been in Texas.

No worries. I'm a northern girl, born and bred. I actually like that the east and west coasts refer to us as "flyover" country. We don't need all those fancy folks who can't change their own tire coming to Wisconsin and moving in.
