Lucky for me I'm done with shoe worries. I had a horse who was extremely difficult to shoe. He tried Slypners, a half dozen frog lifts and pads, plastic encased metal shoes, EZ Boots (several generations and types), Cavallos, Old Macs. Old Macs were my favorite but needed tightening several times in any moderate ride. He even tried glue ons.
I know the video shows the horse covering all kinds of terrain but my experience has been that mud sucks off solid bottomed shoes, tall grass gets caught and peels off velcro and dust works its way into it and it loses its grip. Not to mention that dirt, sand and mud gets between the pad and the sole. Backing a horse with such shoes might entail the foot getting caught on something- I had it happen.
This is an interesting concept and I'm sure it will have use for some people but as you can tell I've heard the miracle shoe announcements many times before.
