As some of you know, I had a bad kidding season. The vet insisted that my doe probably had CAE which explained her weak state after the ordeal and not having milk. She wanted to take blood for a test. I really had doubts that she was right but we had the test done to be sure. After two weeks of not hearing back from her, we called to get the results. It was negative but she pushed for a second test saying that she simply might not have the antibodies in her blood because they were all being funneled into the milk. Except she never made but a few drops of colostrum. Is there any good reason to have this second test done? I'm beginning to think she's just making money off of us now. The doe has recovered, is eating well now and seems to have no symptoms that would lead me to believe she has CAE.
