I am having so much fun with this last dress I cut out!
I wanted to wear it...reason I made it ... but! It is flannel, an 8 panel dress, 4 panels black and grey small checks, 4 panels Scotties at the dog show. They are white, gray, floral, black/white houndstooth, black/ grey houndstooth, red/ black houndstooth, red, and gray/white/red plaid. They are single and in pairs. In attaching the checks to the dog world , oops! Heads were lost or maybe tails! So I am carefully reattaching each severed body.
Although I have yet to learn crocheting and knitting, I am enjoying this detail work!

I miss tailored clothes too. Hardly any to be found unless spending the equivalent of a months salary. Making your own allows that kind of quality.
Do you have pictures?

Yes, pics please...that does sound like fun. I made a suit in homemaking class, obviously many years ago. It came out great, I so wish I had saved it. I can mend almost anything and find it relaxing to sew by hand. I still have my mothers old "singer" sewing machine. Got it fixed twice, but there's something wrong with it, the bobban keeps breaking the thread somehow? Keep up your fun project!

(did you see the movie The Dress Maker? it is good) And now I will think of you as the dress maker. Previously I pictured you as more the Waiting for Dust lady. And that was funny to me.

feather, that is too funny.. waiting for dust? Does anyone do that!!!!! It meets me when I come in! Pictures , I will do my best but for some reason my new phone does not like to share, and this iPad ... but really this is too adorable not to share. Kinda reminds me of a puzzle as I try to get everyone matched up!

Definitely want to see pictures! Reminds me of a friend in Christchurch who belongs to sort of a colonial society where they hold lots of events and all dress up in clothes from around the 1880s. She's such a magnificent seamstress and makes all the outfits for both herself and her DH. They look fabulous in them. She must have to have several closets just to keep them all in.
I wish I had your dressmaking skills. Complicated quilts? No problem. Simple clothes? Big problem.

I had to learn to sew! I have to alter every new pattern. I am tall, size 14 here, 18 there , 16 here , protruding shoulder blades require adjustments. And believe it or sizes 12 and 8= are on me too!😁 Patterns were made general purpose and fit few correctly. It is no wonder people latched on to knit as if it were a life saver.
I will be working on my dress , getting the Scottie’s together. Hope I can finish it today. Then I will see about pictures.
