I like looking at home decorating websites. It's entertaining and sometines inspiring. But they also can be pretty pretentious at times.
The latest "rolling my eyes" moments have come from the latest catch phrase of "curating" a home. Used to be you bought stuff and arranged stuff. You got stuff and/or got rid of stuff. If you were really uppity you might "redesign", which frankly usually meant coordinated it based on a theme or color or type.
Now you "curate" stuff. Hmm... I guess that means you still buy stuff or rearrange stuff but you take it more seriously. Since I don't own any Rembrandts, I guess I can satisfy my curating wants by framing a tea kettle instead.

such a nice phrase, to curate your home decorating! My sister is genetically pretentious about her 'things'. I can't wait to see her and mention how well she has 'curated her home'. "Lovely Darlink, juuuust lovely. Did you curate this yourself or hire someone to come in?" (yeah I won't be doing that)

That's just so funny. I would be happy if everyone could figure out how to keep a basic level of neatness inside and out, maybe sweep the walk or shovel the snow. Curate. Ha.

I have curated too much stuff ... I bring it home but then never get to the curating ..... Closet curating? I have done that too but the worst is shopping bag "curating" or, another step down, vehicle "curating" where the stuff gets unhung up in the truck until I need it.

I clicked on this thread just to see what curating a home meant. I guess it’s what mama when she rearranged the few sticks of furniture we had.
