This is essentially a half recipe of Cream Cheese Frosting which is instead of flavoring with vanilla, is flavored with lemon. Lemon Cream Cheese Frosting Let 4 oz of cream cheese come to room temperature while the cake is baking and cooling. Add 1/2 T. of milk and 1 t. lemon juice and 2 pkts of Pure Lemon powder (or use lemon extract) Mix with a hand mixer adding 2 cups of powdered (icing) sugar. Spread on the cooled cake. Or you could do like we do, put the frosting in a small plastic container near the cake and then everyone serves themselves the amount of cake they like with the amount of frosting they like. This probably won't work with small children

"This probably won't work with small children." Definitely not!!! Mine would be looking for the ice-cream scoop

The company that makes True Lemon, also makes True Lime and True Orange. (I have no interests in the company.) It would be cute to make each kind with the corresponding color with a little food coloring, orange, green, yellow.

feather , Where do you find that in the grocery store? Thanks I don't know if you can but it would be near the lemon juice or spices I would expect. I picked it up on amazon and I love it, for adding to tea, or making lemon/lime/orange aid, or for cooking. We have at least 4 different grocery stores here and I'm not sure what you have. When I searched on Meijers website, they had True Lemon. www.meijer.com/catalog/search_command.cmd?keyword=True+lemon&tierId=

karriew4gifts , my DH went shopping tonight, for you. He didn't see True Lemon at Meijers (where they list it in their catalog), but he did find it 32 pkts for $2.69 at Woodman's. It was in the baking area near the sugar. He says, 'you're welcome'. lol
