My little man has been asking me to paint his room for 6 months or so now. We finally narrowed it down to a color we could both live with. He wanted a dark grey and I refused to paint the room too dark so we went with a medium grey. In the pictures below it's closer to the lighter color than the darker color. I cannot get an accurate picture from the doorway, my phone keeps making the walls way darker than they are. Anyway, I figured if we had to clean the room out for me to paint I might as well get the floor done while I was at it. Then my DH said I should paint the ceiling too since it wouldn't matter if it splattered everywhere. So I painted the ceiling, then the walls and now I've painted the floors too so that any odors are sealed into the existing floor.
Once I get the floors done I'm going to install new baseboard, which we are slowing doing in every room as we redo the floors. Then I'll paint the baseboard, the trim around the windows and door and the door too. If I ever get all that done, then I'm going to try and build him a loft fort bed. I've bought the plans just waiting on DH to have the time to take me to Lowe's in his suburban since my grand cherokee won't hold all the wood. (Maybe I should have gotten a truck? )
I took the ceiling fan down and replaced it with a simple light because the bed would have been too close to the fan. It would have been over a section of the bed and since he is definitely my son he would have ended up hitting his head on the fan. lol
Since I went from painting to completely redecorating I decided to make myself a checklist. It didn't seem like that much until I wrote it all out.
My checklist, the before and two in progress pics...
