Do you find that the almanac holds true for your area? Are there other predictors that are better?

It may not always be accurate, but it seems to come closer than a lot of other projections/predictions. It seems like a lot of sources have trouble forecasting accurately. Seems like there's been a lot of change in the weather patterns lately. Now I'm not sure if it was Farmers Almanac or Old Farmers Almanac, but last fall one of them was predicting a hard, early winter for us. And I thought "well, no, it's supposed to be an El Nino - and those bring us mild winters." Well the El Nino was not a strong one, and sure enough we had 16 inches of snow on the ground by the middle of November. That's early and a lot, even for us. So at least one of the projections was right.

Usually the Farmer's Almanc predicts the winter here very accurately. That reminds me to go look and see what they are saying for the summer.

It's not very accurate here because our weather changes by elevation, location in the mountains, and who knows what else. I will say almost anything is better than the local weather people. They can't seem to get it right!
