My rabbit is not drinking that much water. His urine is dark colored. He was neuter a week and a half ago. He drinks out of the water bowl in the morning when he gets up. I never see him back there again. I tried giving him a salt lick to see if it would entice him. He ignored it.

He will drink when he is thirsty. But, when a rabbit gots off his food or water, it usually means something is wrong. Offer him a small piece of Apple or other moist fruit or veggie.

He is eating good. But only drinks water early morning and sometimes in the evening when we are getting ready for bed. He pees plenty. Really has a good appetite. I am a real worry wart over him.

Sounds like he is fine then. If he has access to water, and he isn't sick, he will drink when he's thirsty.

Sounds like he's getting enough, but is he down from what he drank prior to his castration?
If you're really concerned, you could try adding a little ACV (Apple Cider Vinegar) to his water.
Keep us posted on his progress, okay?

Keep us posted on his progress, okay? Apple Cider Vinegar? I just bought some organic ACV. How much should I give him? Do you think that will make him drink more of it? No, he has never drank much water to begin with. He loves to lay next to the wood stove on the hearth (with the cats) and I'd think he would get thirsty doing that. He is pretty active at night and likes to sleep during the day. The same schedule he was on when he lived in our barn.

Oh, about a half to a whole teaspoon per quart is about right.

Just make sure the container is real clean and fresh cool water is available. See if he drinks more right when water is changed. I don't like plastic either, I use crocks, cleaned twice a day, washed twice a week....James
