I was at a garage sale last weekend, and somebody had a bunch of lids for sale. I found a box of Tattlers for fifty cents, as well as three boxes of what I thought were flat lids and bands. Turns out they're one piece, and I need to look a little closer next time.
Other than the fact that they're going for upwards of $10-$23 a box on eBay, since they still have the original packaging, I go there to buy and check values, not sell. I wondered if anyone ever used them before, what you think of them, and if you have any tips for differences between using those in place of bands and lids.
Any experiences with those here? Or do you think they're old enough that they might contain BPAs?

That is exactly the same lid that's used on Classico jars. Consider it as combined flat and band. They really have been around for a long time and you can buy them in case lots from Fillmore. Many years ago, there was one called Klik-It for home canners. Too far ahead of its time as too costly

Thanks, Martin! Have you used them? I'm wondering if they perform the same as the usual lids and bands from Ball, Kerr, etc.

I have re-used Classico caps but have never bought new ones. The original one-piece caps were only meant to be used one time just as any regular flat. The sealant was latex-based which only lasted so long. The new caps have plastisol which does not break down as quick. All instructions would call for only using them once but I've yet to find the maximum with the Classico caps. I only use them for salsa and some may have had 4 or 5 uses. That would not be the case with your old Anchor Hocking caps. Just one time for canning and then forever for dry storage. Fillmore has regular hi-heat 70mm from 31¢ to 36¢ depending on design. Widemouth, 86mm, are 52¢.
