There's all kinds of salads. What kind do you like and what do you make?
I made a big salad today.
Lettuce chopped up tomatoes chopped frozen peas small cubes of cheddar cheese peeled and diced cucumber diced hard boiled eggs
I'm still working on crisping up some garlic butter cubed bread for croutons.
Then some blue cheese dressing and french dressing.
Do you make a salad of green beans and tuna? 7 layered salad? 3 bean salad? Noodle pepperoni and cheese salad? Cole slaw? Broccoli slaw? Lemon parmesan noodles with blanched veggies? Greek salad? There's so many I can't begin to count. What do you like?

Many people (ourselves included at one time) ruin a healthy salad by pouring on oily and/or high fructose corn syrup laden salad dressings, as well as, cholesterol filled ingredients to the salad.
Our salads, nowadays, are nothing but veggies, fruit, and nuts. The salad dressing we use is homemade. I especially like this dressing:
Sweet Fire Dressing
Ingredients ½ cup plain oat milk (or any unsweetened plant/nut milk we use almond milk) ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper ⅛ teaspoon smoked paprika ¼ cup Dijon mustard or spicy brown mustard ¼ cup pure maple syrup
Instructions Combine the plant milk, cayenne pepper, smoked paprika, mustard and maple syrup in a bowl. Stir well and serve.

@redfish, when I was eating chicken/beef/pork/venison, I loved me some meat sliced and chopped, cold on my salad. I'm on a hiatus from it for now. I could never sell the cold meat on a salad to my DH, but it is so good. Cabin Fever, thanks for the dressing recipe. I was going to say you need some oils to take in the vitamins/minerals from the salad, but, if you have nuts you are getting some oils. You are all set. You go! I'll try out your dressing. Thank you for the input.

I could really use a good seasoning mix like this. I will have to put savory and lemon zest on the grocery list. DH is a big fan of the cold macaroni salads, with tuna and cheese, or a dill pickle and cheese macaroni salad, especially during the heat waves.

We make our own Mrs Dash, we like the original flavor best and make ours with our own dried vegetables and herbs. We also make our own Miracle whip, a little zestier than the original. I added a big TBS to the salmon patties yesterday along with the Mrs Dash. Use Mrs Dash as flavor in the coleslaw too....James

Some days I enjoy a big bowl of green leaf lettuce, spinach, hard boiled eggs, tuna, cucumber, chopped dill pickle, onion flakes, and croutons. I always use balsamic vinegar & olive oil, salt, pepper for the dressing. Tastes good to me 🥗
