A Boston terrier who came to rescue weighing 50 pounds. Okay a larger than normal Boston, but I got him down to 34 pounds.
No, he has not passed to Heaven. He was finally adopted on Monday to a retired couple.
I had him for one whole year. This is a very long time to foster a dog. He had so much anxiety that he is the only dog I've ever had that chewed the woodwork. Not trainable, extremely food possessive, no manners, utterly obnoxious. It took months to calm him down. I used reflexology, Trapped Emotion Code (energy work), prayer. He finally calmed down enough I could teach him his name. Right, he did not know his name at age 4.
He had been starved, beaten, etc. by a woman suffering from dementia. She is now in a facility. Simon is the only dog that could be yelled at. You never yell at a rescue other than to give an amazed scream to stop them in their tracks. Simon thinks yelling is normal conversation. He also wants to be let outside between 4 a.m. and 6 a.m. Fortunately, his new owners are morning people.
He left early Monday afternoon. This morning, Wednesday I got a call. They love him.
I am so glad he is gone. It just gets harder and harder for a dog to transition the longer you keep him. This was the 4th couple interested in him. One wanted him to sit in her lap, even when she was eating. She would not eat at a table. Can't do that with food anxiety.
Another decided they were not ready for another dog. I think she really wants a baby.
Another got tired of waiting on the application process and got a dog from the pound.
Fourth was lucky and very happy to make adjustments for their new baby.

So happy for Simon! Finding the right home is worth the wait. God bless you for fostering these sweet animals!
