I just want confirmation so I don't ruin the recipe. Is Rosemary oil the same as Rosemary EO? I couldn't see where I could purchase just Rosemary Oil,only the EO. But you know what happens when you assume....

What recipe??
Some 'rosemary oils' out there are rosemary essential oil in a sweet almond oil as a carrier.

It's a lotion recipe for eczema: I just figured you all were the 'go to' when it comes to oils!
1/4 cup oats, ground 3/4 cup coconut oil 1 tbsp olive oil Few drops Rosemary oil (optional)
My poor 3 year old grandson scratches his legs fiercely every night and nothing works.

I'd say this is for rosemary EO ... lavender EO would work also

Most likely and EO But with 1/4 cup ground oats it sounds like you are going to make a paste. 1/4 c dry goods into 3/4 c of coconut oil which is hard at room temp just doesn't make sense.

I'll try the Lavender - I have some of that. And I knew as soon as I "replied" that it certainly wasn't a lotion but I have the recipe in my Lotion file! I may add something else to make it a little creamier, any suggestions? Thanks All!

I would omit the ground oats unless you will be finely grinding them, like a collodial oatmeal or baby food oatmeal fine.
Instead of olive oil, I'd use sweet almond oil, avocado oil or evening primrose oil. These oils help heal skin. (or if you can stand the 'stink', try pine tar or neem oil).
I'd make it into a salve consistency using about 2/3 coconut oil and 1/3 liquid oil.
Use a very, very, very low heat to melt the coconut oil. It has a low melting point and beneficial properties are destroyed with a high heat.

Thanks, Cyndi - good to know about the coconut oil. I'll try the avocado oil, I think I can get that at the health food store in town.
