You know the ones I'm talking about - I hope - the ones you get from the dollar store/wal-mart. I've checked out the tags and there are no instructions as far as washing them, etc. Hope to hear from someone with some advice... ~Mari

I've washed one in the washer without problems. I used the bulky items setting and dried it on low. Of note, I have a front-loader.

I've washed many dog beds. The first time I tried washing one in my washer lots of the stuffing came out. It made a huge mess! I now put one in a pillow case and tie it shut. They haven't come apart that way. These are $10.00 beds from CVS.

If you'd throw the cat in the washer once in a while, you wouldn't have to wash its bed.

If you'd throw the cat in the washer once in a while, you wouldn't have to wash its bed. HA... good one! Actually, these beds had been down in the basement for awhile... The beds that we have upstairs - we've had them a year or so and I've never felt the need to wash those... It's so nice that cats never get stinky like the dog does on occasion. Well, they are in the washer as we speak (the beds, not the cats ) - hope this ends well! ~Mari

I really appreciate all of the advice given here. They turned out just fine - thank goodness! We have an old fashioned top loader so I set it to the delicate cycle - then dried them on low. Precious is really enjoying her "new" bed... ~Mari

Oh I love Miss Precious. Now Master Stanley did not take well to his regular bed being replaced with his Christmas bed, and let his displeasure be known, so now we have two beds in the living room. One for sleeping and one simply for Decoration. In the bedroom he allows us use of his queen size bed. Most of the time, the DW gets to stretch out and Mr. Daniel must sleep in a fetal position in order not to disturb the little prince.

I really enjoyed hearing about Master Stanley... and how you sleep! My sweet baby is currently curled up in her bed - exhausted - from playtime this AM with the big cats. Don't know if you saw this thread... homesteadingfamilies.proboards.com/thread/12974/sheesh-long-haulShe has really come a long way! Thanks for posting... I thoroughly enjoy hearing about other people's animals. And the lengths we will go to - to (more than) accommodate them! ~Mari ETA - Get this... I just got off of the phone with the meat dept. at our local grocery store. The gal's name was Precious! I asked her - "Like, that is your given name?" Yep!
