Well now, that there is something I've never thought about. What could you do with pickles, dehydrated, and powdered??? Hm... Sprinkle over potato salad? Top off tomato juice? Add to a cucumber sandwich? Add to a radish sandwich? more???
I've just never heard of anyone doing that. Maybe it's a good idea?

I have dehydrated hamburger dill slices.
Salty. VERY salty.
I was thinking they could add a little crunch to tuna/chicken salad or powdered down to sprinkle over popcorn. But way, way too salty.

feather , around here we have potato chips that are pickle flavored! Oh my word - we just adore those --- yum! I wonder if somehow dehydrated pickles could be utilized to make your own at home? ~Mari

more???
I didn't mean to put that face up there, it was just three question marks.
But anyways. It's nice to know that dehydrated pickles make for very salty stuff. I would guess sweet pickels make some sweet stuff.
In terms of sprinkling stuff on vegetables or other things, if you put it in a coffee grinder, it turns to a fine powder and sticks to everything. I've done it with tomatoes and peppers, with citric acid and lemon powder, and with plain salt. Since the flavors are so concentrated, go lightly, for sure. I appreciate all the input.
I loved dill pickle chips, sadly I gave them up recently. Still for flavor, it sounds like a lively flavor.

My youngest loves the dill pickle potato chips but as his Mama I don't love the long list of chemicals in the ingredient list. The next time dh is off work he's going to make some, his plan is to slice the potatoes thin, deep fry them then sprinkle them with the dehydrated pickle powder. My dehydrator died but I dried them in my oven on the lowest heat setting. Good to know that they are salty, I guess he won't need to add extra salt!
