I was all set to arrest two cats for the starting the blaze. It was obviously the bees, who do not have lungs and survive smoke inhalation.

AD in WNC, Like all of us, I've been sad about sheer beauty, many beloved historical losses and loss of a favored pilgrimage destination for the faithful, due to the fire. I'm glad their bees and so many artifacts were saved. I'm Very surprised that with that much smoke the bees didn't abscond (the queens didn't leave with All of them in tow!). Thanks for the little smile today. DH thought that was "great" too. Maura, haha. Well, smoke does kill bees if it's toxic. Some people kill wasps with heavy tobacco smoke. No lungs or red blood but they pump fresh air through their trachea.

Yea, but these bees get blessed constantly and all that frankincense.
