Could you show a picture of them? We think we have them at our property but are unsure. Ours will not be ready for a few months.

Dewberries are closely related to blackberries but don't make long canes. Instead, they remain low and sprawling. Berries are just like blackberries but smaller. One can pick a gallon of blackberries in the time that it takes to pick a pint of dewberries. I know that from experience! They were only used to make jam or jelly and I remember it being good. But, that was 60 years ago.

Wild blackberry jam is the best of all the berries we have here, lots of flavor and need no pectin added to set up good. We have 6 types of "tame" blackberries. Wild are much smaller but more and better flavor. We have 2 types of wild, one large canes (Himalayan) and another smaller canes with much more varigated leaves, these have a better taste, smaller, more tart and a lot fewer berries....James

Dewberry's are much like brambleberry. Both stay low to the ground. Dewberry's are small and sweet, bramble berry's are much larger and have a sour taste. Really now enjoyable to eat raw but very flavorful for cobblers or making jam's etc. And yes Gooseberry's are small greenish fruit with a sour taste raw.

Hey! I eat gooseberries raw - but only if they're REALLY ripe!

Sorry the pic didn't attach to my post. I am going to make jelly out of them.

Oh right, the blackberries still have a core in them, the black raspberries are hollow.
