Two little fawns ran through the backyard. So beautiful and delicate. Without parental supervision!

We stumbled across this little one while walking the field. Told kids not to get closer than 6ft or so.

We've only seen an occasional deer here until this past year. We see deer every morning and evening now. The other morning I counted nine! Not yesterday but the day before a solo mama -so I thought- strolled through the tall grass and all of the sudden her little fawn started bouncing looking for her. I couldn't help but giggle. Boing! Just like baby goats!

Neat post feather ... Love that pic Ken ! You reminded me of the time Daniel was mowing and I was following behind him with the crimper about the time they were dropping their young in the hayfields... During those couple of weeks he always has his face up to the glass searching for fawns as to not take them into the haybine. He has saved A LOT of fawns throughout the years. Here's one he saw before it was too late... He placed it well off to the side of the field in some very tall grass. I went back later to snap another pic of it. Precious little baby... I checked on it later and it was gone so Momma and baby were reunited - that's always a good feeling. Oh, and Daniel told me the other day - for the first time ever - he got really close to a mom that had twins and they were both nursing... pretty cool... ~Mari
