Happening now but the good news...I finished my list yesterday!!! Just have a couple more things outside for next week and tend to the buckets of garden/orchard sitting inside. It's time and then I get to sew for the winter.

How much snow are you predicted to get? I know some areas in the west are due to get quite a lot!
We have snow showers in the forecast for this weekend - not sure if it's from the same system. But it's not supposed to amount to much; accumulation on grassy surfaces is possible but that's it. Assuming the forecast is correct, of course...

They say 1-3" but I think the cold will be the problem. We are supposed to go to Denver tonight so I hope it quits and the road clears a little. SIL was on her way there this morning and said the roads were awful.

At 1300 hours now the temp is 0C, clear and sunny sky.
We had about 5cm snow (2") shortly after our first frost, on 10 September. It took almost a week to melt off and no more so far.

Got our first snow last night. Tomorrow we're supposed to get 3" of the white stuff. That sure was a short autumn...

We had snow on the lawn and on all the trees this morning. Just a little 1/2 inch. Beautiful sight to see.

Thursday/Thursday night will tell the tale though. UGH! I'm glad I didn't invite any trick or treaters this year. We're out in the boonies so don't have many kids of that age. When we have them, it's due to my invitation. Usually have something for the entire family--cookies and hot cider is my first choice.

mogal, sounds like a fun way to celebrate Halloween. Our snow forecast is now down to around 1", but it's warm enough that we'll end up with ice on the roads. Not good...

5:39 a.m.--just up to let our dog out. Although nothing is showing on radar, it's snowing here with a good half inch on the picnic table. We've lived in MO since '78 and I don't remember a snow this early. I hope this isn't a hint of what to expect.

Well, it's Halloween here - poor kids. It's been pouring down rain since about 5:30 am and the temps are predicted to drop by 30 degrees with snow flurries this evening. Hope somebody's costume was a polar bear and not a belly dancer, lol.

Just a dusting here but 27 * and the leaves are falling like rain. At least was not cold enough to freeze the sap. I do love to watch the leaves fall after a hard frost!

Checking in from Northern Indiana - It's closing in on 9PM here - 10/31/19 - 34° at the moment and finally experiencing a tad of the white slush/stuff for the first time this season. They are forecasting a low of 26° and less than an inch of accumulation. Tomorrow they are forecasting mostly sunny and a high of 43°. I WILL INDEED be working on getting all of the heat lamps in the coops "de-cobwebbed" and dusted off tomorrow!
