I was gifted 10 or so raspberry canes.
The Question: Almost all of the canes were wilted to some degree by the time I got to transplant them (see background info below). Some had some baby leaves that looked non-wilted. Will these baby canes survive? And where should they reside- in the sun or on the porch where it is warm but not sunny? My thinking was the porch until they hopefully get unwilted.
They are all about 6-12 inches tall and had all their root structures, but no dirt by the time they were given to me. I think they had been unearthed for about 4-5 days by the time they were given to me yesterday. I wrapped them in a wet towel until today, when I got to transplant them. I put them in moist dirt, wetted them, added more dirt due to the compaction of the water and left them on the nice and warm covered porch. Is this a good place for them? Will they even survive?
I tried to find an answer online, but got nowhere in regards to them being wilted already before translating.
Thanks in advance!

Keep them well watered for a while, may even need done twice a day, shade is alright for a bit, or just early morning sun. If they have more leaves than the roots can support, or the leaves die, I would trim the cane back to 6". It will send out new leaves as the roots start taking up nutrients....James

Perfect, thanks James! They seemed to be perking up a bit with just the bit of water, unless I imagined it. So I made sure to water more. I didn't realize they are quite thirsty plants. My fingers are crossed!
