Good afternoon all. There's 2 Kathadin lambs coming to spend the summer with me, being raised for meat. The last two years I've had meat lambs and had great luck. I'm planning to move where they graze to where there's black currant bushes. Now, I can cut them back and put a fence between the lambs b. currants or let them wander through the bushes after I cut them back. They are related to red/white currants but the leaves have an almost tomato plant smell but not as cat-peey. Does anyone know if this is a problem? None of the bad plant lists have them or red currants on them.
TIA, Lisa

As long as they have enough to eat, I doubt the lambs will eat something poisonous. You may find them nibbling on a "poisonous" plant that is also a parasite killer.

Maura, Thank you for your reply. I've also read where sheep tend not to eat strongly scented plants. If that's the case I'm home free, besides the fact that most animals don't eat what they 'know' to be poisonous.
