It's a sad state of affairs we are in. And there is really no one to turn to for help.

That is so sad...concerned here about our mail. Everyone here is. We don’t get mail everyday, they insist we do. I get other people’s mail, they get mine. They’ve cut hours & people due to Covid. Now with this whole no funding for USPS, it’s really getting frightening....need he mail!!!

Interesting that the postal workers union never seems to get any blame for post office problems. I wonder what percentage of time is spent on grievances and appeals?
The IRS pays salaries of some in house union leaders. It also pays some employee work time spent on union activities.
Most government unions have high numbers of Democrat members. Republican and Democrat political leaders seem to side consistently with union demands rather than take an oppositional taxpayer stand. Perhaps because they are all 'inside the Beltway people.'
I'm not saying this is the only problem. I know of no well managed US corporation that is headquartered in Washington DC.

Wonder if the deaths were caused due to delay in delivery time, or, perhaps the delivery timing was normal but they got unexpectedly overheated.
One of those is less of a “political issue” than the other .....

Tis delivery time - let's not stick our heads in the sand. Add on delayed delivery of medications - veterans or non-veterans. Once corporate america starts kvetching, we might see a change. Rural america is far more affected than city/suburban areas.

I read somewhere it was 4,800 chicks delievered dead in New England. One must consider that the poultry industry is built upon shipping of dayold chicks and this practice, utilizing the USPS, has been going on since the 1950s at least and doing very well untill now.

The USPS has been going downhill since the virus. They insist they're delivering mail everyday, but I know they're not. They've cut down the staff and their hours. Poor chicks, probably didn't have a chance and that's a whole lot of chicks!
If they have mail in voting for President...what a mess that would be!

Woodpecker , won't be a mess unless a voter doesn't send in his/her ballot in time. And by in time, I mean at least 2 weeks before the state says it must be delivered by (and some states have much tighter deadlines than others - makes me wonder how may military votes are not counted by states with tight deadlines). My state will be mailing ballots starting Sept 24. I always vote absentee since I work the election. I'll mail mine in the day after receiving it. As I suspect most voters will do. I'll be able to check if mine was received or not on Election Day.

USPS has ran its course. No longer is it needed. Over night delivery is possible with other companies that strive to exceed. Bill are now paid online. Ask your self when was the last time you mailed a letter.
