Question about water testing.
OK I might have my tinfoil hat on.
We have a small spring in the property and I would like to have it tested. Should "they" find something bad will they report it to somebody other then us?
I know tinfoil hat kind of stuff.

That probably depends on your local regulations.
Order test kits online. Test it yourself.

alice, Thanks for your reply... After looking on google and amazon. The prices are all over the place $12.00 to $400.00 and none of them have ver goog reviews or that I would risk my life on. So back to the question Will they report it to somebody other then us?

DH gets a home test at Lowe's or Home Depot for about $20 to test our deep well. It checks for 6-7 hazards including coliform, heavy metals (lead), and agricultural chemicals, particularly atrazine. We run the test, nobody else gets the results. If you wish, next time I go downstairs, I'll check the manufacturer and if there's a website on the package. Let me know.

Okay, found it.
PurTest Home Water Analysis, manufactured by American Water Service, Indian Trail NC 28079
http://www.purtest.com
Their email is water@purtest.com
Checks for bacteria, lead, nitrates, nitrites, chlorine, iron, copper, pH, alkalinity, hardness and pesticides. Most are done with test strip then you compare the color of the reaction to the color key. Some of the tests take a couple of days.
Good luck. Great that you have a live spring on your place!
