For Mother's Day, my kids got a white coffee mug and painted flowers on the outside, and signed it. I think they used just basic craft paints from the art section in Walmart.
Does anyone know what I can paint over it with to preserve their art? They are really eager for me to use it, but I don't want to risk any liquid washing away their drawings. I don't think I need a food-grade ceramic glaze that needs fired, because it's just on the outside of the mug. I just want to make sure that it can be hand washed without losing their art.

I am sure I do not know, but it's a good question.
Next time I am at Hobby Lobby or JoAnn, I'll look to see what they have.
