Last year I felt pretty ripped off with a shop locally, overcharging me, no repairs, just cleaning and adjustment (and attitude). This was my post:
I received a notice today that they are going out of business. Honestly, I couldn't be happier for them. How many unhappy customers do you have to make before you finally shut down. Sorry for my anger, money doesn't grow on trees here.

I hate to see a small local business close, but it sounds like they reaped what they sowed.

Did they do the work? Usually shops have an independent person come in to clean and service machines. For that kind of money, I’d learn to do it myself.

They had a man that would do the cleaning/repairs/adjustments in some kind of partnership, billed by the shop. Receipt from the shop. The reputation of the shop is very high prices on fabric, classes, kits. I wasn't thrilled with the owner's attitude or her making promises to have the machines done in 3 days but taking much longer.

I just had mine cleaned & adjusted...it needed it and small shop did an excellent job. It is the 2nd time I took it there...hope he stays in business. I paid $100.
