I agree with you. When we were looking at houses to buy I automatically dismissed homes that had a lot of repairs in the past two years. The repairs hadn't been done for twenty or more years, then they do everything at once in order to sell. This means everything is done on the cheap. Cheap cupboards and counters in the kitchen, cheap furnace, cheap water heater, cheap shingles on the roof, etc. Now, putting off a repair for a couple of years is different if you have been keeping up.
