It’s been a struggle just to keep my bees alive the last few years. Only had one colony of three make it through winter. But we had a perfect spring for the main nectar sources around me. Best Black Locust bloom in 7-8 years, and best Tulip Poplar bloom in 3-4 years. My one hive produced 146 lbs of honey! In the nearly 20 years I’ve had bees, I might have had a colony produce 50 lbs many years ago, but recent years have been little to nothing. It’s good to have a stock of honey once again!

That is great! I really like honey. We have a friend who lives a few miles from us and I always buy several jars from them.

Nice harvest! This is only our third year and we jumped from two hives to six this year. We did a harvest from one of our original hives this past weekend and got 90lbs of honey. We're still surprised AND we have the other original hive to harvest. Was a good year so far and we still have goldenrod season ahead of us.
