That's not too far from where I grew up in Mississippi. One of the nicest things about being from Mississippi is being FAR from Mississippi. I know there are 'gators in most AR counties and some in the Bootheel of Missouri but not this far north. I don't think. Hope not anyway. In this part of Missouri, we must be content with bears and cougars.

I think there's something rather kind about an animal that drowns its prey before tearing it apart. Like it's thoughtful.

I've eaten alligator and I've eaten bear. I think gator may be better. And you get more for the hide.

An estimated 5 million American alligators are spread out across the southeastern United States. Roughly 1.25 million alligators live in the state of Florida. There are more than 1,000 American crocodiles, not including hatchlings, in Florida.
