Ask me in June what kind of winter we had!

Yes, that's what I heard too, a warm winter. I think these warmer winters are messing up the growing schedules on everything! First time in 40 years I didn't have even one flower on the two Hydranga's that have bloomed abundantly all prior years. Crocus coming up in October again this year and not in springtime, Lilacs blooming twice a year, second time in October again. Last February the Crocus were blooming early, weird First time in 40 years the Privet hedges had to be trimmed tree times in summer and not the usual two times, lots of extra money spent.

Inevitably, it seems we have a warm winter and then a single, really hard frost, just about the time you take a chance on planting early.

Mother Nature is often not punctual. As though she has more things going than she can keep up with. I wonder if she is ADHD?

Unfortunately, around here a warmer winter usually means wetter, heavier snow. Yuck.
