I Found my Millie pen empty except for mud and a few feathers and body parts a week ago Sunday. Overnight a coyote hungry from the rain and cold dug in and killed all seven of them. Thankfully I paid attention to that little voice that said hatch, hatch, hatch and have about 30 some babies to grow out.
Time to find another good yard dog, I have a young English Shepard but she isn't up to it by herself yet.

Sorry to hear that happened.
Is good you decided to hatch eggs out. Look forward to seeing photos of the chicks!

Bummer. It's always so frustrating to lose stock that way!

We'll get some hay on the ground soon and open things up so we can see further and varmits can't sneak in as easy.
Bergere
I'll have to learn to post pictures some day and when they get feathered out post some pics. I never did take any pics of my older ones.
Most of the babies are doing good. I had to put the second hatch in with the first hatch and some of them didn't get started good and I've lost a few of them along. Always some thing to learn or sometimes remember again, hopefully next time I will be better prepared.
