It pains me so to type these words, but it helps to know that there are caring folks out there... For about the last week "Little Turkey" had lost her appetite for anything solid and was looking somewhat "frappy". She would take in broths, but not solids... The only way I am typing this now is because I spent a good hour and a half crying this morning... I knew she was on her way out but I didn't realize how soon it was to be... DH got up before me this AM and had her buried before I got up (she had died sometime in the night)...Then he was off to Menards...I didn't discover that she was gone until after he had left...I was SOMEWHAT upset that I didn't get to say "goodbye" to her... But, now I wonder if DH did what he did because he may have been more upset than I would have ever been...He is so much more of a cat person than I am...
Sorry for the blurry pics...The first one is of "Little Turkey" after I had my own first digital camera for about a week! Right after we brought her in...She always loved her "Daddy"... There she is with the Love of her life, Junior...I shall tell ya'll about him some more in the near future... Thanks for listening... ~Mari

I'm so sorry too and sad for your DH as well. I've always had a kitty, even when I had no other pets for many years so I love them dearly. We often don't know When they will leave us.I've lost a couple "to the wild",so at least you know for sure.Still makes me teary remembering. I can't help but imagine a kitty heaven where they romp all happy and frisky and still look in on us and send us love once in awhile though!

Just this side of heaven is a place called Rainbow Bridge.
When an animal dies that has been especially close to someone here, that pet goes to Rainbow Bridge. There are meadows and hills for all of our special friends so they can run and play together. There is plenty of food, water and sunshine, and our friends are warm and comfortable.
All the animals who had been ill and old are restored to health and vigor. Those who were hurt or maimed are made whole and strong again, just as we remember them in our dreams of days and times gone by. The animals are happy and content, except for one small thing; they each miss someone very special to them, who had to be left behind.
They all run and play together, but the day comes when one suddenly stops and looks into the distance. His bright eyes are intent. His eager body quivers. Suddenly he begins to run from the group, flying over the green grass, his legs carrying him faster and faster.
You have been spotted, and when you and your special friend finally meet, you cling together in joyous reunion, never to be parted again. The happy kisses rain upon your face; your hands again caress the beloved head, and you look once more into the trusting eyes of your pet, so long gone from your life but never absent from your heart.
Then you cross Rainbow Bridge together....

I believe this too,as my post showed...that something like this must be true (I don't pretend to know Exactly)...that we get to see them All again! I'm not the OP but I sure feel the same.Thank you for this loving post. Our dear furry friends are so hard on us,In This World, living such short lives and forcing us to " let go" ....but it's so hard! We sentimental humans need writings like this to help us "keep the Faith"! Hugggs to all that still feel their losses.

DH and I were just discussing how many of our cats we have buried...And reminiscing about our favorite ones and their individual "quirks". We can't believe it's only been 3 days since Little Turkey has been gone...Feels like so much longer...
