I can hear some saying... OH.. No.. what next?!! LOL Will she ever stop? The long awaited, Show Quality, Golden Neck d'Uccle bantam hatching eggs arrived yesterday. This is the best and prettiest packaging yet! I "was" going to split them between a broody hen (the one that has been hatching bantams out for me) and my Incubator. Guess that broody hen, had enough of me, taking her babies away, because she wasn't having it. She wants to sit on the full sized eggs though. Two other broody hens, are on the Full sized Wheaten Ameraucana eggs and I don't want to disturb them. So I have all these bantam eggs, stuffed into a Incubator that can fit 12 bantam eggs at most... I have 16 eggs... since they added extra. Not going to waste them....soooo I will be hand turning 3 to 4 times a day for 21/23 days. Keep your fingers crossed for a very high hatch rate! With the d'Anvers hatching rate is just shy of 50% .... I need it to be higher with these.... and a large number of hens to boot. Need a happy hen, high hatching rate, rain Dance! LOL

Dancing madly for you from out here! Those are the prettiest ribbons on the eggs, and very practical, too.
I'm still enjoying just watching my momma hen with her 2 remaining chicks (lost one the first day) scratching in the yard, and still researching exactly what I need to order to fix my incubators and get to hatching some chicks here. No more broodies yet.

LOL Thank you Manygoats!
Am glad you have at least a couple of chicks to watch. Find myself some times sitting down... and not getting anything done. LOL
What is up with your incubators?

LOL Thank you Manygoats! Am glad you have at least a couple of chicks to watch. Find myself some times sitting down... and not getting anything done. LOL What is up with your incubators? Oh, still the same problems with overheating. I posted about them on the thermostat wafer thread, and still need to find my printouts of the owner's manuals and parts lists so I can order the right parts to fix them. I really meant to do it a few weeks ago, just got busy with other things and forgot. ADD strikes again, lol. I know it's going to be expensive to fix them, but they are Roll-X incubators that are high dollar (I got them at a garage sale for next to nothing, so I shouldn't begrudge the $$ to get them back to working right). It just hurts my frugal bone to spend more to fix them than they cost me!
