I feel pretty badly about this. Two tiny heritage black poults from the feed store where I know the owner does a great job with the chicks. So I was hectic and preoccupied, put the poults under a lamp but too far away especially for last night's return of colder, damper weather. Predictable results this morning - we revived one but it died a few hours later. To make it worse, my 9 year old niece picked them out. I feel driven to pick up two or three tomorrow. "Thanks for listening" to someone who had to learn the miserable way to be more careful and focussed.

Sorry about your loss. it does happen to all of us. I had a friend in town that raised 3 chicks, but knew she could t keep them. Just liked raising chicks. When they got too big to be in the house she brought them out. Not thinking, she picked a damp, rainy day. All 3 were dead the next morning. The switch to the damp outside air must've been too much for them. I felt horrible when I had to tell her what happened.

Sorry for your loss. Turkey poults can be a challenge to raise. Is a good idea to get more... turkeys are a lot of fun to have around and I am sure, everything will go well.

Thanks! I appreciate the comments. Two new babies in the sunroom & the red heat lamp is over them. I expect it to go better this time!

Thank you. I have the new ones (Chirp2 and Spot2!) in a heated room as well as under the heat lamp. They seem active and happy! My daughter's bf has taken an interest in them and is really on top of it.
