I would love to see some of the horses we have all chatted about. How's about doing a picture thread?! I will post a few of my guys, but have to get them loaded onto photobucket first! But please post your horses!! I love looking at them, no matter whose they are!

Someone has to get things rolling, so here are a few from last summer. I'm trying to do this from my phone so hopefully it works... We picked up a Pioneer Summit forecart last year and a three horse evener to go with it. The sorrel is Boniface, my haflinger pony who is a little small to hitch with the big boys but does give a little extra power when needed. The black in the middle is Boone, the been-there-done-that boy of the team. And the bay is Bill, still a youngster at 5 but generally a good boy with a good working attitude. Here are the boys raking hay. We found on the hills here that even with three horses the v-rake is a little much for them to pull for very long (at least until we get a bigger 3rd horse for the hitch). Usually we just use the main team with a side delivery when we rake with the horses.

www.flickr.com/photos/75604597@N00/shares/76VJ7yGonna try posting a pic....I don't know if this will work, but if it does, this is my 2 year old QH gelding, out of Dual Pep. He is a bay roan, and a really nice guy. Calm and solid, he will be a great cutter. i think, maybe, I messed this up somehow because there is also a picture of the Percheron I just got about 6 weeks ago! Anyway, Titan is the black Percheron gelding...he is 4 years old, was a stallion until a the day after I bought him. He needs about 300 pounds and he will be a lovely boy.

Your QH is a very pretty boy too! I'm a sucker for roans although we don't happen to have any.

Thank you so much, Amy! I have always thought she was beautiful but it's good to hear it from you, since I know so little about horses She's been a bit of a turd lately, I guess.

Thank you so much, Amy! I have always thought she was beautiful but it's good to hear it from you, since I know so little about horses She's been a bit of a turd lately, I guess. She is just testing the waters. Right now is the time to really start doing a lot of ground work, get her started under saddle, and teach her what acceptable behavior is and isn't:-). And...don't take someone else's word about her being a brat, you need to go on what she is doing with YOU, not someone else! Wish you were closer!

Love real working drafts! Beautiful horses everyone! Dyfra, telling me to hurry up and feed her... she is an Icelandic. Dirty and fuzzy winter shot Dyfra and I... Driving Maggie the mini...at the old farm in OR Maggie also has a Saw buck and pannier to do work with. Stjarna and I, another Icelandic Have another mini Kate,,, still working on her, finding I don't like her temperament much. Had to sell or find a home for my Donkey Ella (very good friend has her), a chestnut pinto mini, my Silver bay two year old Icelandic mare before the move to VA. Couldn't take everyone.

Their temperaments run the gambit. From really hot and fizzy, make a hot Arab looking like a broken down old nag. To the ones most people want. What they call Grandma horses, nice mellow, laid back and easy going. Dyfra is hot, her temperament isn't one most people want to deal with... she took a very, very long time to train at her speed. Is the reason I have never bred her. Once she trusts "her" person... she will do anything for them. She does take care of me and no one, will ever sneak up on us. LOL I have her very well trained. She is a great back country horse... but doesn't have the mentality to handle shows or clinics. (If an Icelandic is cheap, there is very good reason for it) Stjarna has a lot of go, she has a steady mind, easy going, likes to go fast... great for shows, clinics, group rides and goes out alone if she knows you have cookies. Icelandics can be very stubborn and very smart. Much like a Donkey or Mule. Train them like one you would a donkey, and you should do great. Train them like you would a QH, expect them to get bored and either shut down or blow up. They don't however, tend to kick, buck, bite or rear. Which I love. Mares don't normal show seasons... which is really nice.

A friend snapped this picture of the boys with the buggy the other day. I thought the effect she applied to it came out pretty cool.

Oh, way cool Katie!
Love the horses and the buggy!
I miss driving Maggie, but I think sadly, her driving days are over.
