Not even a hint of pricing for those things? As I have no land or tractor, it is purely curiosity as to costs.

Years ago a friend had a baler that made mini round bales. Easy enough to pick up by hand and move. But they were horrible to try and stack. Sort of like stacking eggs.

Those small round bales of years ago were a big problem. For some reason they would "heat" more than the square bales and many barns have burned down because of them. I remember some barns that were torn apart by the excessive expansion of the round bale being stacked too tight.Glad to see them go by the way side!

I will always have a fond place in my heart for the round bales of you youth. I spent every summer hauling 1000's of those things into a barn. Hard to stack, hard to hold still, hard to move up a pop-up loader.
Aren't they really kidding us all - "all our haying needs for only $12K??"

I am making hay now, no baler. Just mow with my Merry tiller mower and rake with an old wooden rake. Pack in barn by walking on it. Beautiful hay this year....James

I thought it was interesting they mentioned leaving the last cutting in the field. Down here, we can get three pretty good cuttings. I wonder what the hay lost vs. time saved ratio is on leaving that last cutting.

The only one making money buying one of those little balers is the guy that makes them. You can buy a decent used tractor, mower, rake and baler for that amount of money, at least around here. Why you would want to buy one of those little balers, I don't know. Selling cute little bales and stacking them are both going to be a problem.

Our big baler has the option to make smaller bales. Our square baler does too.
