Have a builders grade white bathroom cabinet. Would like to paint bronze. If fixtures are bronze, would be that too much? Also, have builders grade plain mirror. Was thinking of taking molding and making a frame for it. Is all this too much bronze? What would be a good paint to use for this. Love Annie Sloan's paints. They're $40 a quart. Has anyone ever used them?

Is that chalk paint? One of my clients refinished a credenza and end table in her den with homemade chalk paint. I think she said that you just add calcium carbonate to regular paint. She waxed the pieces afterwards with a dark wax for an antiqued finish. They turned out great! Out of curiousity, I Googled, and here is someone who tried various recipes for homemade chalk paint and blogged about the results: salvagedinspirations.com/best-homemade-chalk-paint-recipes/Hope that helps!

willowgirl Did your client have to buy special brushes? With Annie Sloan paints, supposed to buy their brushes, too. Quite a bit of money, for us 'living on the cheap' types.

SSS3, on the website willow girl posted, the lady said she had even used dollar store paintbrushes with good results.
Willowgirl, thanks so much for posting that website, I've been interested in doing this and now I'm going to give it a try! I have a friend who repaints/sells furniture, gives classes and sells the paints. She offered to teach me for free, but $40 a qt is a little speedy for my budget. I like this much better!

If you need to ask if it's too much bronze, possibly it is. Is the room quite large? Otherwise maybe the fixtures and the frame.

I'm not sure, but she didn't mention it! I had asked her how she did it ... her projects turned out so nice, I wanted to do one myself. Glad that link was helpful ... post pics of your work!
