My little ones are 6 weeks old now, they're a mixed lot from giant jerseys to native danish (about half the size atm) I also have two isa's (did have 6.. but mr minkey payed a visit) when do people introduce chicks to adults? At the moment they are both in the same coop, but with a wire fence down the middle, this isn't ideal as there isn't really a lot of room for the chicks, and they can't go outside. One got over and got seriously attacked, it survived but it's never going to have a tail, so obviously not yet, the Jersey males are nearly as tall as the isa's now and not far behind in weight but the dansk and the marans are nowhere near. Just looking for a ballpark figure. am I looking at 10 weeks or 15 or... Oh and as an aside, how old before you eat your spare roos

Normally wait until they are fulling feathered out and at least half the sized as the full grown birds.
Also depends on the hens you have now, some are mellow and laid back others... will kill anything smaller then themselves. Since they can see them through the wire.. they should be getting used to them by now.
Eat the Roosters at what ever size you want. As for when, is another of those... depends on the breed of Roosters, some beef out faster than others.

I just had to put the Quail d'Anver roosters into the intermediate area, as they are starting to get too aggressive to the slightly younger siblings. Sadly, while the hens are sweet in this breed... the Roosters tend not to be. Looks like I will be culling early.
